The job that the legislature played in part two, ââ¬Å"The Curse of Bigness,â⬠of Commanding Heights comparable to the remainder of the world was to make guidelines. The New Deal was what was made to set up the guidelines and guidelines in the United States, with respect to the securities exchange. It additionally made occupations by utilizing government projects, for example, TVA. The TVA program was started so as to make occupations, which they were trusting would help support up the securities exchange. Fortunately as they had planed it did in certainty make more occupation accessibility which did thus support the financial exchange consequently helping the whole economy, as it was attempting to creep out of the downturn. By the late nineteenth century the United States was en route to turning into a modern country. This is because of the making of the interstate trade commission (ICC). The ICC was the principal significant endeavor by the administration to control the econo my. The economy as of now depended on the railways the nation over and the ICC was made to manage the rail lines. The ICC controlled rates just as required only treatment of shippers and networks. The ICC turned into the model for future administrative commissions. The administration discovered guideline vital simply after the neighborhood papers slammed the nation in light of its mechanical setting. The term ââ¬Å"muckrakersâ⬠was use by President Theodore Roosevelt so as to affront the media that was slamming Americaââ¬â¢s picture. Most of the administration guideline was centered around one issue. The issue the legislature was stressed the most over was bigness and imposing business models. The restraining infrastructures seemed to have just a single expectation and that one aim was to stifle the atomistic universe of little, family-claimed ventures. The restraining infrastructures were alluded to as ââ¬Å"the intensely hot event.â⬠What the meddlers were stating by this is the main concentration during this season of the economy was unquestionably the syndications. President Roosevelt felt that not all imposing business models were awful. He isolated the imposing business models into ââ¬Å"good trust and awful trust.â⬠He felt that restraining infrastructures ought to be examined under the publicsââ¬â¢ eye.

Europe and the Suez Crisis 1956 Essay
How much was the military activity attempted by the British and French in the Suez Crisis 1956 extremely vital? This recorded examination looks to assess and think about the elements impacting the connections and conversations among France and Britain during the Suez Crisis and along these lines incited them to submit military power to the locale. The mainbody will take a gander at the distinctions and similitudes in Britainââ¬â¢s and Franceââ¬â¢s aims in the Middle East, the inside circumstance (for the most part in Britain), Nasser㠯⠿â ½s activities, general conclusion in Western Europe just as American and UN arrangements on the emergency. So as to do his examination an assortment of sources will be counseled essential and auxiliary, from which important data will be chosen. Carlton㠯⠿â ½s ââ¬Å"Britain and the Suez Crisisâ⬠and Thomas ââ¬Å"The Suez Affairâ⬠will be of specific use. The sources utilized unwavering quality (date of distribution, creator and so forth) will be talked about. An investigation of the principle contentions of the creators just as an assessment of various recorded understandings will be done. B. Rundown of proof At the point when Britain and France dropped the advances to the Egyptian president, Nasserââ¬â¢s hydropower venture, the Aswan dam, Nasser reacted by nationalizing the Suez Canal Company on the 26th of July 1956. Data given in the book ââ¬Å"The Suez Affairâ⬠reveals to us that the organization was to a great extent claimed by British and French shareholders.1 England and France considered the To be nationalization as an infringement of worldwide law and expected this could make an intensity of vacuum, which could be filled by the Soviets, who were their socialist adversary neglected War. Alongside this, the nationalization of the trench legitimately undermined British and French impacts in the region, which was rich on oilsupplies and made sure about Britainââ¬â¢s approach to India. In a letter to the US President in September 1958, the British Prime Minister Eden composed: ââ¬Å"â⬠¦We should in the principal occurrence to apply the most extreme political weight as a powerful influence for Egyptâ⬠¦ (yet) my associates and I are persuaded that we should be prepared, in the final hotel, to utilize power to carry Nasser to his detects. â⬠2 In ââ¬Å"Mastering Modern World Historyâ⬠it is uncovered that a mystery Anglo-American arrangement called Omega recommended to topple Nasser by utilizing political and financial pressure3. Notwithstanding of this arrangement, the issue of utilizing military power in Egypt stayed a consuming issue among the British Conservatives. As per Carlton, the British Cabinet, seemed separated on the matter of ââ¬Å"straight bashâ⬠on the Canal issue by early September.4 The general supposition was firmly ace military activities and considered Nasser another Hitler.5 The French Minister Mollet, didn't endeavor to keep in great terms with any Arab, whom he felt doubt towards, and was to be a solid supporter of the choice to utilize military power. They accepted that the cash of the Algerian radicals, which they battled against, originated from Cairo. Both the French and the British related Nasser㠯⠿â ½s nationalization of the Canal with authentic analogies, which was not going to be rehashed: Hitler㠯⠿â ½s control of The Rhineland just as his take over of Czechoslovakia. The US-president, Eisenhower, unequivocally communicated his threatening vibe on the matter of powers being utilized in Egypt. As per Peter L. Hahn, Eisenhower saw Nasser as a risk of Western danger yet accepted that power just would encourage Soviet penetration in the region.6 So the Americans proposed a relationship of channel clients, the SCUA, when it was uncovered that the British and French attempted to look for endorsement in the UN, where their activities could be advocated because of the Soviet veto. The British accepted the SCUA, yet its effect on Nasser was bound to be immaterial. With the finish of the SCUA Conference, French and British Ministers, occupied with arrangements with their Egyptian partner and consented to the Six Principles7 (see Appendix). In spite of the fact that this appeared to recommend a quiet settlement, French and British military arrangements to attack Egypt proceeded. On 24 October the British and the French Foreign Ministers held a mystery meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister who was resolved to constrain Egypt to perceive the territory of Israel. Five days after this gathering, Israeli powers attacked Egypt. At the point when Egypt would not pull back from the Suez Canal, British and French besieged Egyptian runways and landed soldiers at Port Said. The British-French assault on Egypt was welcomed with furious fights everywhere throughout the world. As indicated by Keith Robbin, the UN collectively denounced the Franco-British activity on second November8 At last, the UN broadcasted truce on November 6 and British and French powers pulled back. C. Assessment of sources ââ¬Å"The Suez Affairâ⬠was distributed in 1966 (most recent release distributed in 1986), and was composed by Hugh Thomas who left the British Government after the Suez Crisis. Thomas expressed reason for this book is that ââ¬Å"It is a between time Report.â⬠9 in which he has utilized materials accessible and talked with individuals, essentially British, engaged with the Crisis. The estimation of this book is that it is a point by point and interesting depiction of the British governmentââ¬â¢s treatment of the Crisis, expertly described by Thomas who himself encountered the Suez Crisis has an understanding in the inside circumstance in Britain during this timeframe. Notwithstanding, this may likewise make the source one-sided as it is a lot of composed from a British viewpoint. This technique has certain confinements as recollections can change and are not dependable. David Carlton, who likewise has composed a book reference about Anthony Eden, distributed ââ¬Å"Britain and the Suez Crisisâ⬠in 1988. The book is focused on students; school understudies and other inspired by post war British history. The motivation behind the book is to educate individuals about the ongoing past, so as to forestall late political teaching. In spite of the fact that it is recognized in the introduction that there are issues of predisposition, subjectivity and points of view in considering the past, the benefit of perusing history ââ¬Å"outweigh the drawbacksâ⬠10. Carlton㠯⠿â ½s book is unmistakably more scientific than Thomas㠯⠿â ½ and incorporates diverse recorded translations of the Crisis, which is of handiness when considering the emergency from a more extensive point of view. Be that as it may, Carlton㠯⠿â ½s book may be very one-sided as it is a lot of composed from a British point of view. Albeit both Carlton㠯⠿â ½s and Thomas㠯⠿â ½s books are British, they present an alternate perspective on the Suez Crisis, likely because of the distinctive date of distribution of the sources first release. In spite of the fact that Thomas modified a few pieces of the book in his most recent release, the most significant pieces of his book, depend on sources accessible when the judgment of the military activity after the emergency made the purposeful publicity betray the British and French. In Carlton case, he has utilized materials discharged during the 80s, which appear to be more amiable towards he British and the French. By taking the two sources in account they disclose to us how the historical backdrop of the Suez Crisis has been reshaped because of political discussion and purposeful publicity. D. Investigation On the off chance that the Suez issue could have been unraveled in an increasingly political manner, British and French esteem during the Cold War would without a doubt have been all the more well after the emergency. As per the American writer Donald Neff the Suez Crisis was a ââ¬Å"hinge point in historyâ⬠as it defamed France and Britain as participators exposed War: it stressed the Anglo-American union, escalated Egyptian patriotism and expanded Soviet impacts in the locale. Alongside that, the consideration was driven away from the Hungary uprising, for the Soviets advantage, as the shadow of Europe fell over the Suez. Hugh Thomas presents a view in his book ââ¬Å"The Suez Affairâ⬠that the French and the British at first were resolved to utilize military power in Egypt. He proposes that they acted in a sharp manner: Nasserââ¬â¢s nationalization of the Suez Crisis allowed them the chance to legitimize the utilization of military power. He recommends that the British and the French had solid goals in the Middle East and to weld however many nations of the territory as could reasonably be expected into an anticommunist safeguard settlement. This can somewhat be valid, as the Suez Crisis was an occasion exposed War, when the British and French majority rule governments attempted to, along with America, contain the extending Communist alliance. In any case, other potential understandings of the Crisis and the British and French expectations negate this view. The student of history Lowe presents proof of the Omega plan, which recommends that Britain expected to dispose of Nasser by progressively quiet methods. Other proof additionally underpins this view. For instance Eden, as cited in area B, needed to utilize military force as just ââ¬Å"a last resort.â⬠As we can see from the proof given, the Americans attempted to seek after a progressively tranquil arrangement in Suez. The Six Principles, just as the acknowledgment of the SCUA, gave indications that the British were moving toward a serene settlement, on Americaââ¬â¢s activity which, maybe, could have spared them from a worldwide destruction. Notwithstanding, one can contend that these discretionary exchanges can be viewed as delaying the procedure so as to persuade America to acknowledge the utilization of military power. They were not genuine but rather just an exterior, which secured the aggressor goals of Britain and France. The more contemporary view recommends various conditions drew Eden take the lethal choice to utilize military power. ââ¬Å"Eden was confronted with exceptional weights (â⬠¦).â⬠11. As per Carlton, the trick among France and Israel was not so much in the possession of Eden. ââ¬Å"

In some cases, these acts of altruism lead people to jeopardize their own health and well-being to help others. In many cases, these behaviors are performed unselfishly and without any expectations of reward. Other instances, known as reciprocal altruism, involve taking actions to help others with the expectation that they offer help in return.?? What is it that inspires people to give their time, energy, and money for the betterment of others, even when they receive nothing tangible in return? What Is Altruism? Altruism is the unselfish concern for other peopleâ"doing things simply out of a desire to help, not because you feel obligated to out of duty, loyalty, or religious reasons. Everyday life is filled with small acts of altruism, from holding the door for strangers to giving money to the homeless. News stories often focus on grander cases of altruism, such as a man who dives into an icy river to rescue a drowning stranger or a generous donor who gives thousands of dollars to a local charity. While we may be familiar with altruism, social psychologists are interested in understanding why it occurs.?? What inspires these acts of kindness? What motivates people to risk their own lives to save a complete stranger? Prosocial Behavior and Altruism Altruism is one aspect of what social psychologists refer to as prosocial behavior. Prosocial behavior refers to any action that benefits other people, no matter what the motive or how the giver benefits from the action.?? Remember, however, that pure altruism involves true selflessness. While all altruistic acts are prosocial, not all prosocial behaviors are completely altruistic. For example, we might help others for a variety of reasons such as guilt, obligation, duty, or even for rewards. Explanations for Why Altruism Exists Psychologists have suggested a number of different explanations for why altruism exists, including the following. Biological Reasons Kin selection is an evolutionary theory that proposes that people are more likely to help those who are blood relatives because it will increase the odds of gene transmission to future generations.?? The theory suggests that altruism towards close relatives occurs in order to ensure the continuation of shared genes. The more closely the individuals are related, the more likely people are to help. Neurological Reasons Altruism activates reward centers in the brain. Neurobiologists have found that when engaged in an altruistic act, the pleasure centers of the brain become active. One 2014 study published in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience found that engaging in compassionate actions activates the areas of the brain associated with the reward-system including the dopaminergic ventral tegmental area and the ventral striatum.?? The positive feelings created by compassionate actions then reinforce altruistic behaviors. Environmental Reasons A Stanford study suggested that interactions and relationships with others have a major influence on altruistic behavior.?? Psychologists have long debated whether some people are just born with a natural tendency to help others while others are not, a theory that suggests that altruism may be largely controlled by genetics. The study called this theory into question, finding that socialization had a serious impact on altruistic actions in one- and two-year-old children. Kids who observe simple reciprocal acts of altruism were far more likely to exhibit altruistic actions, whereas friendly but non-altruistic modeled actions did not show the same results. Such research suggests that modeling altruistic actions can be an important way to foster prosocial and compassionate actions in children. Why Being Good to Others Is Also Benefits You Social Norms Societys rules, norms, and expectations can also influence whether or not people engage in altruistic behavior.?? The norm of reciprocity, for example, is a social expectation in which we feel pressured to help others if they have already done something for us. For example, if your friend loaned you money for lunch a few weeks ago, youll probably feel compelled to reciprocate when they ask if you if they can borrow $100. They did something for you, now you feel obligated to do something in return. Cognitive Reasons While the definition of altruism involves doing for others without reward, there may still be cognitive incentives that arent obvious. For example, we might help others to relieve our own distress or because being kind to others upholds our view of ourselves as kind, empathetic people.?? Other cognitive explanations include: Empathy: Researchers suggest that people are more likely to engage in altruistic behavior when they feel empathy for the person who is in distress, a suggestion known as the empathy-altruism hypothesis.?? Researchers have found that children tend to become more altruistic as their sense of empathy develops.Helping relieve negative feelings: Other experts have proposed that altruistic acts help relieve the negative feelings created by observing someone else in distress, an idea referred to as the negative-state relief model. Essentially, seeing another person in trouble causes us to feel upset, distressed, or uncomfortable, so helping the person in trouble helps reduce these negative feelings. Comparing the Theories The underlying reasons behind altruism, as well as the question of whether there is truly such a thing as pure altruism, are two issues hotly contested by social psychologists. Do we ever engage in helping others for truly altruistic reasons, or are there hidden benefits to ourselves that guide our altruistic behaviors? Some social psychologists believe that while people do often behave altruistically for selfish reasons, true altruism is possible. Others have instead suggested that empathy for others is often guided by a desire to help yourself. Whatever the reasons behind it, our world would be a much sadder place without altruism. The Gravity of Misconception - Literature Essay Samples
Time and time again, humans make a habit of imagining their lives as more glorious than they are. Author Jhumpa Lahiriââ¬â¢s Interpreter of Maladies is a collection of short stories about misconception. She exploits the universal yearning for something greater and, through her characters, creates a clear deviation between a desired abstract and reality in each piece. For every storyline, the gap between perception and truth does not last for long and ultimately ends in a subtle personal tragedy. The strongest example of constructing oneââ¬â¢s own reality lies in ââ¬Å"Interpreter of Maladies,â⬠the namesake of the novel, which further supports the idea that misperception is Lahiriââ¬â¢s focus. The Das family, American tourists, take Mr. Kapasiââ¬â¢s taxi to Indian attractions. The cabbie quickly becomes obsessed with Mrs. Das, even imaging an entire life with her, all the while ignoring her coldness towards her family. Despite admitting her faults, even revealing that one of her children is the product of an affair, he still fantasizes of her. ââ¬Å"In those moments Mr. Kapasi used to believe that all was right with the worldâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Lahiri 56); Lahiri purposes uses the word ââ¬Å"believeâ⬠ââ¬ânot knows, not understands, but believes. Having just faith means constructing a reality that is not actually there. Thereââ¬â¢s zero chance they have any future together, but it is nice for him to imagine so. He is disappointed but does nothing when she doesnââ¬â¢t even notice that the paper containing his contact information floats away in the wind, obliterating the potential for a future together. Then there is Mr. Das, who is infatuated with the country of Indiaââ¬â but only the good parts. Heââ¬â¢s elated to explore his motherland for the first time. On a road, he tells Mr. Kapasi to pull over because he wants ââ¬Å"to get a shot of this guyâ⬠(Lahiri 49), an emaciated vagrantââ¬âbut does nothing to aid the man in any way. By treating the situation so casually, he capitalizes on the poor manââ¬â¢s struggle in the name of what he imagines a developing, foreign country should look like for the sake of his memories. Later on, he is still too distracted by his camera to notice his son being attacked by monkeys. It is only once Mrs. Das shrieks during the attack that Mr. Das is brought back to the brutal reality of the situation and thus agrees to return to the hotel immediately, too shocked to really spe ak or act; he did not see the problems of India until they personally affected him. The obliteration of these menââ¬â¢s false realities, meant to comfort, unsettles them, as Lahiri leaves no resolution. In the story ââ¬Å"Sexy,â⬠a young woman deludes herself in what it means to be a mistress. Miranda, lonely and new to Boston, is thrilled when a handsome, cultured, married man pays attention to her. She wholly embraces the role of mistress, going so far as to ââ¬Å"buy herself things she thought a mistress should haveâ⬠(Lahiri 92). She considers their relationship romantic, whereas it is truthfully lustful, largely consisting of a regularly scheduled sexcapades. The illusion is fully shattered when a child calls her ââ¬Å"sexyâ⬠ââ¬â a word she once treasured when Dev called her itââ¬â when she models her prime, never-worn ââ¬Å"mistressâ⬠outfit. Miranda is appalled and further bothered by the young boy defining ââ¬Å"sexyâ⬠as ââ¬Å"loving someone you donââ¬â¢t know,â⬠illuminating the illegitimacy of Dev and Mirandaââ¬â¢s relationship. From that point onward, she stops seeing him, ignoring his calls, because the semblance of a re lationship is no longer comforting. Lahiri uses ââ¬Å"This Blessed Houseâ⬠to draw attention towards the discomfort of making choices solely for comfort. Sanjeev misleads himself by trying to plan out the perfect life. He, like Lahiriââ¬â¢s other characters, focuses on the good while acting almost purposefully oblivious to the bad. This is most evident in his choice of home and wife. He is hasty and stubbornââ¬âbefore even buying the house that he and his wife live in, he ââ¬Å"had already made up his mind, was determined that he and Twinkle should live there together, forever, and so he had not bothered to notice the switch plates covered with biblical stickersâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Lahiri 137). It ends up being the religion iconography that drives him crazy about his home, which he could have avoided if he had only payed attention. But ââ¬Å"when, after moving in, he tried to scrape it off, he scratched the glassâ⬠(Lahiri 137); not only is his ignorance a discomfort to him, it is literally damaging. The house is a metaphor for his marriage with Twinkle, a quasi-arranged marriage that he rushes into in desperate need for a companion that is a safe option. It is only later that aspects of her personality that he disregarded begin to aggravate him. Lahiri uses Sanjeev as an example of what happens when people make serious but ordinary life decisions on a basis of blatant misconceptions. The reason the personal tragedies are ââ¬Å"subtleâ⬠is because the characters cannot do anything about the unraveling of their delusions. Lahiriââ¬â¢s writing is not dramatic and rather insinuates a calm acceptance of the truth. Furthermore, the object of each characterââ¬â¢s deceptions are not actually deceptive. All fault lies on those with the overly-active imagination, seeking to escape harsh realities. In life, the malady of delusion is unavoidable but never stands permanent. It is impossible for people to make their lives wholly comfortable.

John Maynard Keynes Absolute Income Hypothesis - 1481 Words
The basis behind much of macroeconomic consumption theory rests with John-Maynard Keynesââ¬â¢ Absolute Income Hypothesis, described in The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money (1936). His findings lead to the conclusion that aggregate consumption is highly dependent upon disposable income; but also, as total income increased, the proportions of savings would increase, meaning oneââ¬â¢s marginal propensity to consume (MPC) would decrease. Leading to the assumption that consumersââ¬â¢ consumption decisions are made only by considering disposable income. Following Keynes Absolute Income Hypothesis, James Duesenberry developed the Relative Income Hypothesis (Duesenberry 1949). This theory asserts that consumption is not only based on oneââ¬â¢sâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Expanding upon the Life Cycle Hypothesis and the Permanent Income Hypothesis, Robert E Hall introduced the Random Walk model of Consumption (Hall 1978). Hallââ¬â¢s theory introduces rational expectations into the Life Cycle and Permanent Income Hypotheses. Stating that if rational expectations exist, then consumers will change their expectations as additional information becomes available to them. Variations in consumption are then only able to be explained by events that were unpredictable, as they would otherwise be smoothing consumption, which suggests that changes in consumption should be unpredictable as well. Evidence from Jesse Rothstein and Cecilia Rouseââ¬â¢s (Rothstein and Rouse 2007) research about how student loan debt affects post-college career choices suggests that recent college graduates behave in a manner that is not in accordance with life-cycle agents in. They create a regression-based estimator using difference-in-differences analysis (DID) combined with the Wald Test, with controls for variances that a simple version of DID/Wald would not be able to capture. The first of their results that can be of importance to consumption is that students wi th student loan debt were more likely to take higher-salary jobs over lower paying or ââ¬Å"public interestâ⬠positions, which would result in higher pre-debt servicing disposable incomes. Before Keynes (1936), many economists considered the interest to be the important factor to determine the propensity of saving. Keynes introduced ââ¬ËAbsolute Income Hypothesisââ¬â¢ (AIH) in 1936 which demonstrated that fluctuations in the short run interest rate had no significant effect on spending decisions; rather the consumption behaviour is entirely dependent on current income. Research Papers on English Literature
Research Papers on English Literature The world of John Donne is the world of love, not limited by the single variety of feeling and unchanging picture of love. When we talk about the love poetry of John Donne, we recall his poems from Songs and Sonnets, full of emotions and attitudes. What makes Donneââ¬â¢s poems a masterpiece? Probably, the secret is in his personal autobiographical picture in each and every line and poem. The author is experimenting with his own feelings and emotions through his poetry and brings it up for the readerââ¬â¢s judgement. He does not look for agreement or critics. Donne is more in search for new angles of these feelings that could be brought to him by his reader. The poet is trying to make his poems live and accessible to us, by creating tangible and intangible values and incorporating them in different shapes in the poems. Reading through Songs and Sonnets, we are able to see the transformation of love from purely material feeling towards the woman, mainly based on sexual interest, to highly emotional dedication of self to an ââ¬Å"Angelâ⬠, the woman that becomes a reason for living. The author is taking us through his own journey of self-analysis and evolution and drives us to his major idea and belief that in love body and soul are not distinct and cannot exist other than in parallel with each other. Only the love that comprised from body and soul can bring satisfaction and show a human being the highest form of love. Anyone who starts reading John Donne and his love poetry will dive into the world of new and unexpected ways and angles of the feeling we call love.

Effective Business Communication Issue
Question: Discuss about the Effective Business Communication Issue. Answer: Introduction: As part of the curriculum in MBA course, we were given the task of preparing a report as well as a presentation relevant to a real business communication issue. The criteria for the assignment were to prepare the report in compliance with the conceptual knowledge that informs the topic referring to definite and pertinent theories and models of communication. In connection to the solved assignment I was given feedback by the competent authority thereby allowing me to gain an idea regarding my performance in doing the task. The response that I received from the reviewer widened my horizon regarding the topic that was to be addressed and also helped me to identify the mistakes and drawbacks that were inherently present in the report. Hence, scopes for improvement were provided by avoiding repetition of the same errors in future. As per the feedback responses the structure of my report was found to be not institutional thereby accounting for less detailed approach in context of the given topic on professional communication. Introspecting the write up I feel the report could have been presented in a more meticulous manner in line with current and relevant findings pertaining to a business communication issue with emphasis being laid upon using the concepts retrieved from the relevant theories and models. I understood from the responses received that I should have chosen a more specific issue within the broader topic of business communication to explain and discuss more elaborately on the given topic. Moreover, I am now aware that the task did not call for conducting a case study. However I committed a major mistake by making reference to a case study and subsequently analyzed and related the crisis as depicted in the specific scenario with respect to the business communication. Further in the introduction section of the report I did not emphasize on all the key components relevant to the topic of business communication. More in depth address of the business communication features encompassing the concepts of segmentation, specificity, accuracy, timing, frequency, multi-channel involvements, face to face and two way communications. The structuring of the body of the report was not appropriate according to the comment received from the reviewer. The various models of business communication were mentioned in the report without adequate attention being laid upon identification of the key strategies that may be applicable in resolving the issues relevant to the business organization. Conclusion: The report was further found to be incomplete due to insufficient component analysis of the conclusion section. However another identified issue that was grossly wrong in my assignment included insufficient incorporation of references to support for the findings as per the recent researches. The task required inclusion of at least 12 academic references out of which 5 should have been journal based articles. This criterion was not fulfilled in my report as the number of references was less than the required limit. Therefore, paying close attention and insight into the comments received in the form of feedback from the reviewer I am in a position to comprehend that I should have paid more attention in catering the demands of the assignment. The feedback truly helped me to better analyze the intervening factors relevant to the given situation and aided in my personal growth through insight, prudence and pragmatism.

If the new information technology system is implemented in the organization than this arises the business risk of misstatements in the financial statements because rapid changes in technology can made the personnel of CSR Limited incapable of development of an understanding of how the calculations has to be done with these new systems of the organization (Azim, 2012). If CSR limited wants to do corporate restructuring than it arises the risk of misstatement of assets and liabilities because the professionals will face difficulties in segregation of the liabilities and assets. Adoption of new accounting practices and policies by CSR limited can lead the business risk of misstatement in the financial statement because changes in accounting principles always have affect on financial reporting (Stanley and Marsden, 2013). CSR Limited is thinking of entering into new business areas and wants to expand its business which may lead towards business risks as it will lead towards misstatement in the transactions of the various account balances of the organization (Mazza and Azzali, 2015). Three specific account balances (not account classifications) at significant risk of material misstatement Specific account balance Assets and Liabilities Equity Interests Transactions (a) Explain why the account balance is at significant risk of material misstatement. The account balance of assets and liabilities can be at significant risk because there can be over statement in the assets and liabilities of CSR limited. There can be inclusion of fictitious receivables or inventory which can lead towards material misstatement. This phenomenon is very much related to the happening of occurrence of transactions in the organization. There can be omission in the assets and liabilities Of CSR Limited that has not been disclosed by the organization and thus generates the significant risk of material misstatement (Christensen et. Al., 2012). The account balance of equity interests of CSR Limited can be at significant risk when equity interests are not valued and recorded properly and all the information regarding account balance of equity interests are not disclosed properly. There arises a significant risk if the balance of equity interests has not shown an appropriate amount at the time of valuation and the balance of equity interests has not recorded in the proper accounts. If the equity interests of the current accounting period are not recorded than it can lead towards material misstatements. The account balance of transactions of the organization is at significant risk of material misstatement because if the transactions are not recorded when actually occurs and does not relate to the organization. If there have been errors at the time of preparation of financial statements or at the time of posting the transactions into ledger than it can lead towards significant risk. The transactions are not measured properly at the time of putting them into financial statements, than it can lead towards material misstatement. (b) Explain the key assertion at risk of not being valid. The key assertion at risk of not being valid for assets and liabilities for CSR Limited is that the organization represents the yearly financial statements according to the applicable provisions and policies of the financial framework of reporting and other statutory reporting requirements and according to the policies of Government of the country (Eilifsen and Messier, 2014). CSR Limited follows all the prescribed regulations regarding measurement, recognition and presentation of assets and liabilities and other events and provides all the required disclosures. The key assertion at risk of Equity interests is not being valid for the organization i.e. CSR Limited because Equity interests are appropriately recorded in the financial statements and a full description is provided for them by the organization. The related disclosures and understanding on equity interests is provided by CSR Limited in according to the current accounting and financial reporting framework (Chen and Roberts, 2010). Risks of material misstatement at the level of assertion for the classes of transactions is not being valid for the CSR Limited because the organization at a considerable level assists in determining the nature and class of transaction to the extent of procedure of audit in order to get sufficient evidence and disclosures to put in the financial statements (Cao, 2010). (c) Detail one (1) relevant substantive audit procedure to address the assertion at risk as identified in b) above. The audit procedure of CSR Limited firstly includes the consideration of auditor for making the required disclosures in the account balances of the organization. The auditor use both quantitative and qualitative disclosures in order to identify the risks and the misstatements respectively. Substantive procedures are carried out by the auditor in order to detect material misstatements and to address the assertion. The auditor design details of the tests to be undertaken in order to assess the risk with the major objective of getting relevant evidence for the audit procedure. This will help the auditor to achieve planned level of assurance at the assertion level. In designing the substantive procedure regarding existence of assertion, the auditor selects various items and transactions from the financials of the organization and thus obtains the audit which can be considered relevant. In designing an audit procedure and to get a complete assertion at risk of misstatement, the auditor in vestigates different items of the financial items and their reasonability on inclusion in the financial statements (Margret and Hoque, 2016) The nature and extent of the substantive audit procedure depends on the financial reporting complications of the organization and the risk associated with material misstatement. (d) Detail one (1) relevant practical internal control that would mitigate the risk in relation to the assertion at risk as identified in b) above. Communication and enforcement of integrity and ethical values is one of the practical internal controls that would help in mitigation of the risk in relation to the assertion at risk. Integrity and ethical behaviour of the individuals in the organization brings the effectiveness in the control system will help the organization. The enforcement of integrity and ethical valueswill help the management to remove or mitigate risks of the individuals acting dishonest or illegal for some temptations. When the organization communicates the organization policies on ethical values and integrity than the behavioural patterns of the individuals can be set in order to mitigate the risk. This will help the organization to mitigate the risk of any fraudulent activities in the organization and helps to maintain the reputation of the organization in the market (Contessotto and Moroney, 2014) Conclusion From the above study it can be concluded that CSR Limited is carrying out its business activities in according with the industry factors, regulatory factors and other factors. The industry factors which impact CSR Limited are competitive environment, customer relationships, organization relation with its suppliers and different technologies advancement. It is also analyzed from the above study that the business risk to CSR Limited can be regarding to the preparation of the financial statements according to the applicable financial standards and reporting system prevalent in the country. It is also identified from the above study that the account balance of CSR Limited can be at significant risk because there can be over statement in the assets and liabilities of CSR limited. There can be inclusion of fictitious receivables or inventory which can lead towards material misstatement. References: Aldamen, H., Duncan, K., Kelly, S., McNamara, R., Nagel, S. (2012). Macbeth Character Essays (1253 words) - Characters In Macbeth
Macbeth Character "This dead butcher and his fiend like queen", is the way in which Malcolm describes Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Describe the way in which these two characters changed during the course of the play. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is seen as a courageous soldier who is loyal to the King but is corrupted from the witches prophecies and by his and Lady Macbeth's ambition. This is because of the weakness of Macbeth's character and the strong power of Lady Macbeth and how she is easily able to influence him. Her strength motivates him at the start but after he realises what he has done it is himself that continues in his murderous, bloody path. At the beginning of the play Lady Macbeth appears as a kind wife of Macbeth's but underneath lies a scheming and treacherous woman. In the beginning of the play Macbeth is a strong soldier who fights for the King without mercy but his strive for ambition and his curious nature leads him to the witches who give him a prophecy. Banquo realises that there must be a trick hidden in the witches prophecies somewhere but Macbeth refuses to accept that, and when Lady Macbeth finds out about the witches her strong desire for ambition and her cold nature leads Macbeth astray. Macbeth is a little ambitious at first, but Lady Macbeth's far exceeds his and so she is able to get Macbeth to agree with her to kill King Duncan. Macbeth still has a conscience at this stage because he is very hesitant about killing the King but his weak nature over comes him. He has a conscience throughout the entire play as this is seen by the hallucinations of the dagger and the ghost of Banquo and his vivid imagination and his constant worry also provokes him. This is also evident in his terrible dreams which gives the solid theme that he has indeed "murdered sleep". Throughout the play we see the character of Macbeth change not from just the way he thinks and what we hear from the play, but from the actions he takes in the play, from killing Banquo, then having Lady Macduff and her children murdered, shows the insecurity that was present in Macbeth. After the murder of Duncan Macbeth becomes paranoid and his first step of killing the guards is one of many that Macbeth takes to secure himself. Macbeth is also very superstitious and this is shown when he believes the prophecy the witches told him that Banquo's offspring would become Kings. Towards the end of the play when Macbeth's wife has died and the battle is drawing closer Macbeth shows some good which may have been. He wishes for a normal life for which he would have lived to an honourable age but he recognises that he has denied himself of this. Even when Macbeth hears that the prophecy has become true of Birnam Wood coming to Dunsinane, he rejects this idea and fights on until he realises that Macduff wasn't born in a natural birth but instead was "Untimely ripped" from his mother's womb. When Macbeth hears of this he realises what he has done and how he has been tricked by the witches but instead he realises that it is useless and so he fights on only to be slain. Macbeth can be summarised into a character although strong physically he is very weak mentally and it is this weakness which causes the downfall and change of Macbeth. Other factors do however also contribute to this change such as his wife whose ambition is very strong at first and is much more stronger mentally than Macbeth but it is also Macbeth's ambition and his trust in the witches which ultimately change him. Lady Macbeth seems to be almost opposite compared to that of Macbeth in physical and mental power. Lady Macbeth is the person who is able to persuade Macbeth into killing Duncan, assuring Macbeth that it will succeed, as Lady Macbeth's ambition is far greater than that of Macbeth. This change in the character of Lady Macbeth is apparent after she reads the letter from Macbeth as she goes and talks to the evil spirits to make herself evil with lines such as "Fill me from the crown to the toe-top full of direst cruelty! Make thick my blood". She goes to the extent of planning the murder of Duncan and assumes full responsibility of this. She exerts a lot of power over Macbeth in this

Decide If Private School is Worth the Money
Decide If Private School is Worth the Money When assessing if private school is worth the money, its important to consider all the factors look at many studentsââ¬â¢ experiences at private school from a cost-benefit perspective and many come up with the conclusion that attending a private school does not in any way guarantee access to an Ivy League or equivalently competitive college.à There is no clear answer to the cost-benefit analysis of whether private school is ââ¬Å"worth it,â⬠but here are some ways to think about the equation. Examine Your Criteria Most articles that seek to answer the question about whether private school is worth the cost look at one factor; college admission. Particularly, many choose to look at admissionà to a very selective bunch of schools, namely the Ivy League and other similar colleges and universities. However, these elite colleges and universities may not be the goal of all or even most private school parents and students. In fact, many private school graduates are fortunate to have the added bonus of working with highly qualified college counselors whose jobs are to help graduates find the best fit higher education institutions, and not the most prestigious. What good is an ivy league degree if youre not getting the support you need to succeed and do well? Yes, its true thatà some private schools thrive on advertising the admission of their recent graduates into Ivy League and equivalent schools, but college admissions results can never sum up the true value of private school education. Does an ivy league education guaranteeà success and fulfillment? Not always. But that isnt necessarily the one deciding factor to consider. Instead, parents and students who want to understand what a private school education offers them need to look at the process of the education and what it has provided students in order to prepare them for life after high school. Improved time management skills, increased independence, introduction to a diverse community and rigorous academics; these are just a few of the skills that private school students gain from their experiences that cant necessarily be captured by their college admission lists. Understand the True Value of Private School The benefits of a private school education may not always be summarized in the list of where recent graduates attended college. For example, one study found that the benefits of a boarding school education extended well beyond studentsââ¬â¢ senior year of high school and the college admissions process. The graduates of private boarding and day schools felt much better prepared for college than did public school students in the survey, and graduates of boarding schools achieved advanced degrees and career success to a greater extent than did the graduates of private day or public schools. Parents and students can often understand what private schools offer when they look at the complete trajectory of graduatesââ¬â¢ education and careers. Want to learn more about life at an all-girls boarding school? Find the Best Fit for Your Child In addition, statistics and summaries of vast numbers of students do not always help you understand what type of education is best for your child. The best school for any child is the one that fits his or her needs. For example, if your child loves horseback riding or surfing or English poetry or another academic or extra-curricular interest, a certain school may provide him or her with the best environment for advancing his or her interests and development. It is by no means true that a private school is always better than a public school, and it is true that public schools can often be more diverse than many private schools. However, the cost-benefit analysis of any particular school must be carried out with a particular student in mind. The true value of a school is what it offers to that student, not just what it offers in terms of college admissions. The true value lies in what the school offers with regard to a studentââ¬â¢s life-long learning. Applying to private school, despite the hefty price tag, might be the best thing youve done yet.

Computer security and risk management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2750 words
Computer security and risk management - Essay Example This paper presents a Risk Management methodology for multi-national pharmaceutical company in Midlands pertaining to protection of the Information assets and the corresponding business assets of the organization against the known threats to the organization. Introduction: Risk Management is an intelligent mix of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The qualitative analysis procedure essentially requires establishment of a structured and logical assessment framework whereby metrics are assigned to every parameter that is being assessed. The analysis against the metric levels needs to be quantitative based on past experiences (data available), industry experiences (case studies), advice from consultants and internal brainstorming. Every level needs proper justification to a deep level such that serious risks do not remain un-noticed and also meager risks do not get projected to the management as serious simply because they are more talked about in the organization. In this paper a systematic Risk Management procedure is being presented in detail and applied to the case study. The workflow of risk management has been arrived at after a study of National Institute of Standards and Technology), BS ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard and ISO/IEC 17799:2005 code of best practices. These approaches recommend that the asset values are calculated based on Confidentiality (C), Integrity (I) and Availability (A). Thereafter, the comprehensive list of threats to the business are listed down such that the overall threat value, probability value, vulnerability value and risk value can be calculated for each asset (Olzak, Tom, 2008). Risk Assessment Process: The Risk Management Process proposed in this case study has been presented in the figure below (Figure 1). This methodology requires that all the assets are first collated and their characterization is done in terms

Tsar Alexander I Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Tsar Alexander I - Research Paper Example Alexander was made the Emperor after the murder of his father Paul 1 and ruled Russia during one of its most unstable periods. A liberal at heart, Alexander tried to bring about social reforms. Family and Personality There is a strong relationship between the personality of Alexander and his early childhood. The struggle for power between Alexanderââ¬â¢s father Paul and his mother had a deep rooted impact on his personality. From a very early age he learned the art of distancing himself from his family and developed a strong conscious of his own power. During his rule as emperor of Russia this side of his personality was evident. He was always a person who could change is ideology and impression according to his target audience. Thus Alexander was able to master different cultures and skills. He was equally apt at art as he was at military strategy. He could advocate the Rousseauââ¬â¢s humanitarian ideologies and preach the traditions of Russian aristocracy at the same time. Th us it is widely believed that Alexander proclaimed that he loved humanity but in reality hated it which is shown from his various decisions in power. This is also shown by the dual decisions taken by him in both foreign and domestic policy. Succession At the age of fifteen years Tsar 1 was married to Louise of Baden. She was later named as Elisabeth Alexeievna. Catherine wanted to appoint Alexander the King due to her differences with Alexanderââ¬â¢s father Paul 1. However before she could take on this task she died in 1976. This created a power vacuum and there was only Paul 1 who could fill this vacuum. Thus instead of Alexander, his father became the king. Paul 1 as compared to Alexander was more intent on bringing about social reforms in Russia. This saw a massive opposition from the court and other power sources. These social reforms were resulting in a direct decrease in their power therefore it was inevitable that there would be opposition against Paul 1. The opposition fi nally resulted in his death as he was murdered in 1801. There is still much confusion on Alexanderââ¬â¢s actual role in his fatherââ¬â¢s murder. It is however believed that in either case Alexander knew about the plot and was willing to take the throne. Reforms The early year of rule of Alexander 1 saw many efforts at bring about a change in the stagnant governing system of Russia. Russia in the era worked through a centralized system of governance consisting of Collegias. These Collegias were abolished in Alexanderââ¬â¢s rule and new ministries were set up in their place. A big hindrance in this process was the old allies who has propelled him into power by killing his father. Tsar 1 systematically replaced them with young and enthusiastic friends from his own company. The ultimate aim of Alexander was to form a constitutional monarchy which would not reduce his power and bring about social reforms at the same time. Most of Alexanderââ¬â¢s reforms were constitutional su ch as the creation of a new law and committee of representatives. These reforms did not change life of the common man during his time but had a long lasting effect on Russia. A very simple example is the abolishing of serfdom by his nephew many decades later. Although Alexander 1 could not achieve this goal during his rule, the changes brought about in law (allowing serfs to own land) enabled later generations to bring about reforms. Wars The most remarkable thing about the rule of Alexander was his wars with Napoleon. Initially the young Tsar had a very good
